Every week the Jackson Hole Daily looks at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s lodging barometer of bookings for the week ahead, which the chamber compiles Wednesday afternoon and posts online Thursday morning. Comparisons are made according to percent change, rather than the difference in percentage points.
After dipping last week, advance bookings in Jackson Hole for the coming weekend are back up from the same time last year.
Teton Village hotels in particular will be busy, with 86 percent occupancy projected for Saturday. That number is up 43 percent from the same weekend in 2012, when occupancy was at 60 percent.
Vacation rentals also saw a spike, with advance bookings coming in at 59 percent, up from last year’s 47 percent.
Overall occupancy is up as well. Valleywide, occupancy rates are projected to be at 55 percent. During the same weekend last year, that number was 50 percent.
In downtown Jackson, lodging numbers remain steady from last year at 54 percent.
Outlying areas of Jackson saw a slight dip, coming in at 30 percent for Saturday compared with 31 percent last year.
