Growing venture
Vertical Harvest is one step closer to building a three-story greenhouse in Jackson after council members unanimously threw their support behind the group’s $1.5 million grant request for state funds. Two other projects were sent back to the drawing board.
Moose captain memorial
Family, friends and team-mates of Jackson Hole Moose hockey’s Joe Casey will gather at the Snow King Sports and Events Center at 9:30 p.m. today to celebrate their captain’s life. A friend found Casey, 37, collapsed at his home Monday afternoon. Medical personnel were summoned, but were unable to revive him.
Net gain
The Jackson Hole Broncs boys basketball team took down conference rivals they had lost to earlier in the year. Jackson is still improving as it heads toward the end of the season and tournament play.
Films with flow
For 20 years, Skinny Skis has been hosting the Banff Mountain Film Festival’s World Tour. The feast of flicks will screen Saturday and Sunday at Jackson Hole High School, with tales of Antarctic explorers, daring climbers and hard-core paddlers.
Fun with facts
Trivia nights at Local and Cutty’s bring out the brainy sides of residents. Both weekly events give people chances to test their knowledge on topics ranging from breakfast cereal to NPR luminaries.
