News Bulletin: Fulmer write-in for Mayor

August 16, 2012

Jim Fulmer, a longtime Jackson resident, announced Wednesday night he is running for mayor as a write-in candidate in the Aug. 21 Primary Election.

Fulmer is running against incumbent mayor Mark Barron in protest over the town council’s decisions regarding the comprehensive plan, his email announcement said.

He said he hopes to “be the referendum” on Barron’s leadership during that process. The town adopted the comprehensive plan by resolution, not ordinance, likely precluding an effort by critics to seek an opportunity to reject it by referendum.

Fulmer, 61, is the Snow King Ski Area business manager, he said in an interview Thursday. If he is nominated by write-in, he would face Barron in the general election in November.
