Every week the Jackson Hole Daily looks at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s lodging barometer of bookings for the week ahead, which the chamber compiles on Wednesday afternoons and posts online Thursday mornings. Comparisons are made according to percent change, rather than the difference in percentage points.
Lodging bookings for the coming weekend are up significantly from last year in Teton Village and will see a modest increase in Jackson.
Teton Village has 92 percent occupancy for Saturday compared to 60 percent at the same time last year, a 53 percent increase. In Jackson, bookings are at 96 percent this week, up from 91 percent last year.
Jackson and Teton Village numbers also are up from last week, when Jackson’s booking rate was 95 percent and Teton Village’s was 81 percent.
Vacation rentals are down slightly, with a 73 percent rate for the coming weekend as opposed to 74 percent in 2011. The parks and Moran saw a similar decrease, with 91 percent of rooms booked Saturday compared to last year’s 93 percent.
However, overall occupancy in all lodging destinations for this weekend came out on top of 2011. Occupancy for all rentals is at 90 percent this weekend compared to 2011’s 83 percent. That’s an 8 percent increase all around.
